This is a small, authentic Creole restaurant that has fantastic Haitian cuisine. Nice portions and a good variety. Cabri Creole is a favorite - but it is all good. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. I travel to Haiti a couple times per year and Cafe Creole is my fix when I miss authentic Creole cooking!

Stopped in for lunch. Started with a beef patty. It was good but would have been better with more filling and maybe served with a sauce of some sorts. I asked and the server recommended to creole sauce chicken. It came with rice and beans. The rice and beans needed more flavor so I used the great sauce from the chicken and transformed the side dish from ok to very good. I love fried plantains but again I'm a sauce type of guy. So I asked for a sauce and they brought me out a spicy vinagre type of slaw mixture. It was good also. The chicken was drumsticks which is not my favorite but the flavors made up for it. By far the best part of my dish was the sauce from the chicken. They should just put that on everything!!!!!

I just went to get some takeout at Cafe Creole. Disclosures first; I have been to many Caribean restaurants from New York to Miami and my mother is Haitian therefore I know what good food tastes like. I had the Griot (fried pork shoulder) and the red beans and rice with green fried plantain . IT WAS EXCELLENT!!!!!These folks have been around for 7 month but have just started posting on YELP. Don't let the lack of reviews stop you. As an active Yelper, I can tell you that the food is excellent. The atmosphere is simple with about ~8 booths and 10 bar stools so I recommend takeout for your first experience. The food is as GOOD as MOM's and mom's food is good. The fried pork shoulder is moist, the rice is correctly seasoned and the fried green plantains were also tasty! It is so easy to do a bad job on this combination of dishes and they did a GREAT job. The portions were plentiful and the prices reasonable. $10 for the full takeout meal! Again, I highly recommend this place for excellent takeout Caribean (Haitian) food! Get a taste of the Caribean that you missed since your last vacation!

One word: Excellent!!! (7-6-18)
I had seafood bake and my husband had gumbo. No shortage of ingredients. Seasoned perfectly.
They did not have utensils to open the crab as people seem to always order that dish to go! Except for this the rating would have been a five.
Even so everything was great. Service exceeded expectations. We will be back and soon!
